Another on Godyear Eagle F1s here.

Spot on imo. As good a tyre as i've had in all conditions, little road noise(quieter than the continentals they replaced).

Arguably the best value too. I would reccomend them.

This forum would benefit from a pinned thread for a) tyre choices and b) wheel spacers.

Perhaps something for the FAQ section.

The PS2s are a much better drive, and the PSSs are even better (but make a bit more road noise).
Dave are you still running 275's (275/30/19?) with the PSS? I think your stock suspension (non SS+) IIRC.

Every time someone writes the word tyres it hyperlinks to the search facility as the topic is discussed practically daily, always with the same results. Same with the spacers, but I don't think PhilT has linked that one. Each thread ends with the same conclusion.

Those people that have not yet tried the Super Sports feel the Goodyears are usually the best (unless they've not changed yet from OEM recommendations (Pirelli, Continental, Dunlop). Those that have moved through all/most brands arrive at the same result. Super Sports are king, followed by PS2's (PS3's are for more generic hatchbacks / saloons etc with a bit of poke).

Spacers... H&R hub-centric are recommended. 8mm / 10mm front, 10mm rear on stock suspension, 8mm all around on SS+. Speak to Virdee (forum sponsor) and he's supply you with the right ones (2 different ones in those sizes from memory). He's a top bloke, priced well and delivered in a timely fashion. He'll also be able to supply you with the correct, quality long bolts rather than the usual ones offered through ebay, etc that are made of chocolate.

A proper write up in the FAQs (expanding on marc1's post) would definitely be beneficial.

Perhaps a vote on what tyres forum members are running would be interesting too.

Agree, a vote would be useful. Perhaps collectively a number of members could develop a review of say the 5/6 most popularly selected tyres and a sticky post could be generated for it. I think that would be a great tool for the forum. Oh and the width discussion too, that would be useful topic to cover.

Having done under 2000mi on a set of Continentals, I unfortunately cannot contribute effectively :biggrin2:
