Spacers and tyre size
I also run 10/8 with stock wheels + 275/30/19 and not rubbing rear and super minor front left if I hit a giant dip on freeway... But roads are some of the worst I have seen here in Texas. And I thought they were bad in Seattle... So on normal road I should have no rubbing with passengers or not. And I am lowered on coils.

different tread designs i would think , would be interesting to know what tyres people run too

Spacers and tyre size
V12's, and here is where I sit!
Re: Spacers and tyre size
if people are only rubbing on one side at the rear after adding 10mm spacers its possible that the rear subframe has moved/needs aligning.

Re: Spacers and tyre size
Good call, I had to do this in the front and pretty much fixed it.sar wrote:if people are only rubbing on one side at the rear after adding 10mm spacers its possible that the rear subframe has moved/needs aligning.

Or the camber is out of adjustment.sar wrote:if people are only rubbing on one side at the rear after adding 10mm spacers its possible that the rear subframe has moved/needs aligning.
Re: Spacers and tyre size
Where did you all get your spacers??
I am going to go for 8mm front 10mm rears on 255/35/19 Goodyear F1's

Achtuning(Seattle) and ECS all hub centric! You will be totally fine with that, probably even with 10's on all 4. I went that combo with 275/30/19 and perfect look/ride. Just make sure to get longer lug nuts, F/B. If you have dark wheels ECS sells black lug caps too, cheap.

Re: Spacers and tyre size
I have been away so sorry for any delays in getting back to enquiries
And cycleSi I couldn't understand why you had issues as the setup recommended and sold to you was on the many hundreds we have sold with no issues
When you called me, I did offer the 8s at a discounted price. You never got back to me as we agreed you would try putting the 8s on the rear to make sure 100%
And as for me not swapping them or taking them back; would you be happy if I sent you some spacers that were used? Is it feasible for me to restock them!!!!
No need for these words as you could have contacted me to resolve this as I had initially thought you was going to after your first call!

Re: Spacers and tyre size
I went for 10mm all round , no rubbing at all and looks like you could get away with more at the back , would look odd at the front with more than 10mm though.

Re: Spacers and tyre size
Thats interesting coz im running 255/35/20 and when i got a full load in car they sometimes rub.also noticed that on one side the rear wheel arch looks closer to tyre than other side.everything has been checked so just put it down to fuel tank being on that side..so if rear subframe was out would one side sag more than the other?

Re: Spacers and tyre size
Well I'm pretty certain my occasional rubbing is now cured, after some tough B-road blasts today. I personally doubt the sub frame movement theory as they don't just move.
I have SS+ with 8mm Front and 10mm Rear. They rubbed lightly with GY Eagle F1's tyres, even when down to 3mm tread depth. Now that I've swapped to Michelin Pilot Super sport tyres, the rubbing seems to have stopped. I was chatting to Neil at the Boxhill meet today and you can see the GY F1's have marginally more rim protection than the PSS's, I also think the GY F1's squidge more under hard loads as the sidewall is softer than the PSS. So both these factors I think attributed to my personal experience.

Re: Spacers and tyre size
Sam it won't just be the lack of rub you are going to benefit from by making the switch to PSS's. Enjoy!

Re: Spacers and tyre size
I must say Marc that it's nice to be back on Michelin tyres after two summer seasons on GY F1's.
First impressions are; better road surface feel, increased braking stability, no tyre squeal when pressing on, more grip, improved high speed stability, better damp weather grip. The extra damp/wet weather grip surprised me a little, I was expecting them to be more dry weather focused than the F1's and all previous generations of Pilot Sports I have run before. If they've also resolved the spacer rub issue, then that's the cherry on top.
