RS4 B7 Sound Package ...

Post by anawaz » Tue May 12, 2015 4:22 pm

Newbie here.

Hi guys.

I'm scratching my head real hard right now on buying B7 or B8 ...

I have a query. can I ask if Audi option for B7 is available regarding sports sound package?, or whats everyone doing here. I see loads of utube vids on Milltek, how much £££ does that cost.

Cheers folks and nice to meet y'all !

hi mate

no the B7 wasn't available with a Sports Exhaust option - a Milltek will cost you about £1100 for a non res (louder), non valved (you can't shut it up even if you want to) version and i think about £1700 for a valved one. Not sure on the Resonated (quieter model) version but prob a little more.

cheers for that toyneg.

so what seems to be the consensus for B7 Avant vs B8

would it be fair to say B7 is for the purists, and and appreciating classic.

there are a few people on here that have made the switch to the B8 from the B7, i am sure some will come along to add their input on what they think between the 2 but yes you are right, the B7 has pretty much done all of its depreciating now and if anything prices are rising, I purchased mine in 2012 with 69k on the clock and it would cost more now to buy one with that mileage than what I paid for it back then. The B7 is a really great car, it will get quite a lot of attention of the road with it's wide arches and with the Milltek or other upgraded exhaust it really sounds the nuts. plus you get a manual gearbox and it really is great to drive if just a little dated interior wise which is where the B8 comes in (auto only with paddles)

thankfully i'm aware of the b8 avant only and gearbox, and its the avant that appeals to me tbh.

any views on price of this little pearly ?

i'm not in tune with RS4 prices, ask me about Porsche 993s though and I should be able to help (not special models though like GTs or RSs). incidentally 993 or older have appreciated in value astronomically over past year or so, and i can personally vouch for that. in past few months i've sold one and now own two.

modern classics and their increasing values is happening for sure.

Hi mate,

I think that it is a lovely example but a little high on the price IMO. I am happy to be corrected if not. Last time I looked there was a couple of nice ones on here up for sale which were better spec'd (seats) and were well priced. They did have a few more miles on them but nothing excessive.

I just had the resonators chopped out of the standard exhaust, and replaced with an x pipe. Cost about 150 quid, and car sounds great now.

I can vouch for these guys at Parkway. They are a pretty decent bunch of guys, but what i will say is that at 45k miles there should be some room in that deal to negotiate down to £24k. Good luck with the hunt

Nice car indeed, but what I really want is daytona grey. sunroof is must. don't care about seats, in fact I quite like the ones in this car i.e. Parkway.

In terms of mileage and main dealer history, thats really cool.

I was reading yesterday about RS4 B7 Avant 'known problems'. Seems like suspension was one of them. Given this car has been only been seen to by Audi, I would assume the DRC issues will be sorted ?

Great colour. I like the b8 the arches look great in real. But it just doesn't look that special until you get round the back and see the exhausts. Just personal preference tho. For me the b8 looks toned down. I've not driven a b8 as I'm not looking to move to an avant. The B7 saloon for me is perfect

Hey mate

Best to check exactly what has been done. DRC is indeed a known problem, and can be one of the more expensive ones to cure.

There's a handy list of all the common problems in the buying guide in the stickies section of the forum.

In terms of the exhaust system query, would you recommend Vortex?

Sorry, perhaps jokes are too soon? Bad taste?

PS don't use Vortex.
