RS4 B7 options

Post by FrankC » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:42 am

The B7 RS4 interior looks very impressive and for me its the high point of the car so far. :D

I have just noticed that the seats in the press release pics(blue car) show different front seats from the launch car(yellow).
It is my gut feeling that the seats in the yellow car are lightweight numbers and will be a cost option or be part of a sport pack for the new car.
Sat-nav,and adaptive headlights will also be cost options and the usual nice bits and bobs will be available for selection,Sunroof centre armrest etc etc.

Estimate for the above?..........£6k

I think you'll find he's referring to the cost in weight of the above options...airbags/adaptive lights/sunroof/satnav...expensive in terms of weight...

Of the finest homegrown (tomatoes :smile_smoking:)

120kg of extra weight with all the options added. It probably wont be much as that, I was just exagerating the point a little. Every option you add on puts more weight on the car execpt for the seats of course but if they come as standard and the car weighs in at 1650 then extras such as airbags, sunroofs, sat navs and directional lights come at a price of weight and power drain to the system.
Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

Fair point, not sure if the figure of 1650kg is with the lightweight or standard seats.
Dealer called on Friday to see if i want a brochure sent to the house when they become available....all will be revealed then i guess :)

Hi Conti,

IMO the yellow car seats look like they are made up from different types of fabrics where the blue RS4 looks defo like leather.
Are you going to the Geneva show?
If you are could you maybe find out info on seats etc?

I am just wondering. If you were to buy a Brand New RS4 B7, Fully-Loaded, in the United States. In US Dollars, how much would the car be? I want to see how much the options bring up the car.

There is plenty of information on this forum that speaks badly about Audi. Go check other topics. You will see enough information to satisfy your needs.

Pot, please meet kettle.
Kettle, this is pot.

Mr Chase, read the posts. FrankC guesses 6k GBP at the top, which is - oooh, about 11k USD in options. so I guess you will be looking at somewhere over 90k USD.

Do the math yourself ffs, its not difficult to speculate, which is all we are doing here.

Doesn't your friend you posted about yesterday who lives in the uk who and works on Audi production know how much they will be ? :bigblink:

I think I'm up to date on most topics, just struggling with all the new recent posts (Mr Chase) :D

As JohnW says we have a rough idea over here. US might be more difficult for Audi though, an EU car in US, with a weak dollar.

It might turn out that its expensive if you do a straight conversion so Audi might sallow some of the rate differences (giving you guys over there a comparative bargain).

Have to wait to see, but somebody in Audi most be puzzling over it. Hopefully for you it won't take all of 2005 for them to work it out!

Right, I understand about the money issue. I think Audi will come to a term where the price is more compatible to the buyer. If they put the RS4 B7 on the market for over $80,000 they will be in big trouble. No one is going to pay that over here. The price would have to be in the 60 - 70 price range for the car to hit big. My friend in the U.K. said the same thing as above, that the price is unknown for American buyers because Audi does not want to flop this car. That would be horrible.
