New tyres

Post by junior123 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 3:39 pm

Its new rubbers time - two worn front and rears near to the limit so I guess I'll be changing all corners.

I've seen the odd post here and there with some good offers + recommendations. What's the current view? I'm considering a change from p zero's to Michelin supersports for around the £750 mark.

I rate the popular forum choice of Good Year F1 Asy 3's and they are currently fitted to my Blue RS4, however I have recently aquired another RS4 which is shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 3's instead. Having done 1500 miles on those I actually prefer them.

Haven't tried the Pilot Super Sports though myself but when the blue cars GY F1's need replacing I will be trying out the Super Sports on that. I also only run these tyres Spring-Autumn as I have Winter wheels & tyres for that time of year which are far better suited and performing.

The super sports grip like you wouldn't believe! Had mine on the track at the Asda charity event at bruntingthorpe and the corner speeds the car was managing were mental! It took some serious effort to shake it loose lol.

They don't seem to be wearing too quick either, although that was way down on my priorities. Number 1 for me was grip.

I had to replace my two fronts and went for super sports, mega impressed! Will be buying them for the rears when they are due.

+1

And the P Zeros that junior123 has currently are a total POS IMHO :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung: :dung:

I will never, ever let P Zeros near any car I own (they were factory fitted and I was so glad when they only lasted 9k miles as they had no wet grip, no dry grip and uncertain handling - I totally hated them.
