Newbie looking for some price advice.07 RS4 B7 Avant

Post by Fraser RS4 » Fri Aug 08, 2014 8:01 pm

Evening All,

Been on the forum for a while now lurking in the back ground trying to improve my knowledge of these legendary cars so when i do decide to purchase i make sure i buy a good high quality well looked after example.

Now i believe the time has come and i have found one that meets my requirements but i thought i would pass it by the RS4 gurus first to get your opinions on the car in question and the dealer who is selling the car if any one has had any dealings with them before.

Its an 07 B7 Avant up for £27995 details of the car can be found at http://www.pctcars.co.uk/carsforsale/au ... 07/106.htm

Is the car overpriced for its age, condition, spec, millage etc? If so what would you suggest its worth?

The dealer P.C.T. Porsche does have good reviews online. Has anyone on the forum had any dealing with them before or heard anything regarding them?

Thanks in advance to any and all advice fired this way.

That's really a lot compared to true Greek prices.
Imagine mine cost 25k Euros, 2 yrs ago.

Way over priced in my opinion.

I paid £26,000 3 years ago for sprint blue avant with 41k on the clock with sun roof, SS+, Nav, Bose, auto lights etc.

Typical dealer with no mention of DRC, clutch, brakes, oil cooler

I'd want a 10 year all inclusive warranty for that price.

Wow. Deluded. I paid over 5K less for a mint Saloon with 38K on the clock.

I did think that they were trying to pull my pants down on price.

I have asked regarding the DRC, Oil cooler & aux rads. I was told that none are showing any signs of leaks and that the DRC was checked over at the last service at Audi.

Apparently clutch is good and discs look excellent but. Still waiting to find out if the car is still on original discs/pads and clutch.

Ok so suggestions then for my counter argument to being ripped off. 25-26 k for the car more reasonable?

Thanks for the feedback so far chaps.

4-5k over priced imho. Bet they paid no more than 21 for it. If u need dealer facilities then there is a price to that. Pay 24 max.

Agree with what's been said. Even allowing for a dealer's margin that's very optimistically priced. They'll be making at least £5-6k on it. I certainly wouldn't take their word that everything's OK on the oil cooler/DRC even at much lower money. Be patient, the right one will come along. Keep your eye on the forum cars for sale!

Meant to also add I got a two year warranty when I bought mine, non Audi dealer.

Be surprised if they paid any more than 18k for it.

Suggest £21k tops plus minimum 1 years warranty

It's strong on price and 24-25k is where I'd put it. Avants are always worth more but even so, that’s a little cheeky.

If you're going to pull the trigger then be very thorough on the service history, call every dealership and talk to them about the vehicle. I've done this numerous times for both my RS4's and it's amazing what you learn about a car when you put in the time to trace service history.

i agree with everyone..with it being a porche specialist they think they can add thousands to sale price..as stated hold out for a cheaper one..go on ebay, auto trader and pistonheads theres loads of excellent avants on those sites with reasonable and good mileage and of course a lot cheaper..i recommend you test drive it if you never been in one like..always good to take one out even if you got no intention of buying it :rocker:

Under no circumstance take the word of dealer on anything.

I shall call Audi Halesowen later on this morning to see what history i can russel up. Then depending on what info they can give me go back to the dealer with an offer of 24k with the possibility of sliding back up to 25k. Shall let you know what happens tomorrow evening once i am back on shift.
