That looks lovely Spikeyboy, I do like the Lapiz but it's almost identical to the colour of my wife's MINI that the R will be replacing so she fancies a change, thanks for the photos of your white R joinery80 that also looks great.PCP or lease, white or blue, decisions, decisions. I'll post up the lease figures from the VW dealer tomorrow, I've noticed the interest rate has dropped from 6.9 to 6.3 over the weekend so my drive the deal PCP quote should be a little bit cheaper than £266 per month now, the deals are getting stupidly cheap now, I was paying more for my wife's A1! VW have an excellent finance calculator on their site for anyone who wants to mess around with deposits, mileage and length of term. The figures it produces are identical to the dealer quotes.

I should add that my quotes are based on only 5000 miles per year, which is more than enough for my wife's usage, the lease can have a higher mileage at extra cost, but I've been told as the excess mileage is only 6ppm its cheaper just to pay for any excess at the end of the term.

After a few more days driving, haved to say i really like it.

Bloody quick as well, launch control is mental.

Had a little run in with a C4S on Sunday, wasnt giving it the full full beans as still not run in, but he was only just pulling away from me, not bad for a little 5 door hatch back. One niggle is where they have put the button to change modes - cant really see it from the drivers seat, should have moved it to the drivers side, as its hard to find the button to change to Race mode if your in a hurry to do so.

Bang for your buck you cant really go wrong

I got the quotes from the VW dealer:
For a basic white 5 door car, 5k miles, £1426 deposit, £217.61 x23 inc vat
Red car same deposit £206.66 x23 inc vat
White DSG same deposit £254.51 x23 inc vat
All the above have an initial deposit of approx £2000, but you get a £600 rebate after collection.
This is direct from Alan Day VW
I think these are the cheapest overall cost I've seen.

I've actually gone down the PCP route and ordered one today, my local dealer matched Drive The Deals discount of £3900 so the PCP works out at £290.38 X 23 months + £1500 deposit. The above lease works out about £800 cheaper but I prefer the flexibility of the PCP and I'm still very happy with the deal.I don't think the cheap lease deals will last much longer, so if anyone's considering one I'd get your skates on.

I've ordered a boggo spec 5 door DSG in Pure White. The standard spec is actually very good, 18" alloys, Xenon's, auto lights/ wipers, active cruise control (that was fun on the test drive :) ) Bluetooth, DAB, front and rear park etc.Looking at around September for delivery.

The standard spec is very good, didn't stop the Mrs adding a few essentials in her eyes.

Bit of trouble brewing with the cheap lease deals, it looks like VWFS are asking for proof that anyone who applied for the lease is a business, even though many of the brokers were advertising them as a private lease.I think some of the fleet dealers are going to get their knuckles rapped, even though is obvious its being going on for years.VW have said anyone who can't prove they are a business will have their orders cancelled, seems a bit harsh.Should know more next week, pleased I went for a PCP :)

Yep was readying up about the VWFS issues last nigjht on the R Forum. Looks like it got very messy.

Glad mine is sitting on my drive :) mine was actually through Blue Chilli so was with Network Lease not VWFS.

5 Door DSG
Lapiz Blue with Winter Pack, High Beam Assist, Disco Nav, Rear Airbags.

2 year Lease with 8k PA - £347 inc Vat per Month (6+23)

Whilst it a bit more than what Alan Day were doing its still a cracking deal for a £35k car. (5 years ago i way paying £300 per month on PCP over 3 years for the 9 month old Focus ST-2 i bought for £14,000 for the missus)

You got a great PCP deal though - when i sat down with VW dealer and specced the car (same as above) they wanted £520 per month with £2k down. He would even budge on the price either (Hate the VW/Audi dealers round my way as they never offer discounts to me)

Yeah it's all gone t*ts up. Looks like the the dealers have got a bit greedy and put loads of individuals through as business.Still no official word but some of deals have already been cancelled. The PCP's have also increased as VW have lowered the final balloon, my monthly would have increased by around £60 at today's prices.

Hardly surprising that the deals have been found out - my deal through networked was good, but the VWFS deals were crazy.

What other £30,000 car could you get for less than £300 per month - and for basic spec just over £200 per month.

Put into perspective - when i bought my wife a second hand 9 month old Focus ST 2 for £14,000 i put £1,000 down and PCP £13,000 over 3 years at a cost of £300 per month
