Is it going to be DSG or will Tiptronic be available?

I doubt there'll be DSG. If there is then it'll be the first Audi with it and a longitudinal engine.

there will supposedly be a 7 speed Tip tranny and 6 speed manual.

No DSG in a High HP/Torque motor until Audi and Porsche use it in the 2008 models.

I am sure I read somewhere a mag saying that it may use the 7 speed DSG from the new Bugatti, surely that is a High HP/Torque motor?

Called Audi UK Press this morning, and they I mentioned something about the presentation of the RS4 in Geneva, and they would not deny it....... I am going there for 4 days flying from Heathrow for £130 r/t.... Need to see the car, since I left £500 deposit for a slot at an Audi dealership for the coming RS4 ...

Guys,

I had a call from Audi Sales last week asking to up my deposit. According to them the latest is that orders are to be taken beginning of Q2 and cars delivered beginning of Q3.

Audi are keen to get the cars out, presumably to boost the A4 (B7) and because there's loads of interest, from us for starters I suppose.

It is likely to be limited numbers, but that could have been a sop to get my deposit increased.

Anyway, if orders are Q2, Audi need to present it soon. So Geneva sounds like a good bet to me.

I won't be able to make it, so don't forget to photos!

By the way my first post, but cheers for all the reading up to now.

They don't need a deposit until they can give you a spec. Don't get conned.

just heard from my german/serbian journalist friend that its NOT at Geneva its being kept until Frankfurt

I asked yesterday about waiting lists at local dealer, all they want for now is a letter of intention, not interested in deposits until they have a spec to offer. They think the saloon will be available from the end of the summer, the avant after October as it is 'based very much on the standard car'

Mmmmh. Doesn't ring well with a presentation in Frankfurt late September, does it?

Great. Your dealer is either a lousy salesman or disappointed by the car himself.

Frankfurt is too late to launch the car. They will want a bunch full of orders before it hits the streets. My vote goes to a Geneva launch.
