Help needed with fault code please ..........

Post by Sass1 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 10:08 pm

Hi

I could really do with help tracking down a problem thats stumped me so far

I was pretty sure that something wasnt right as she hasnt been running as smoothly as usual, so i had friend who has a garage to run a rosstech diagnostics and its flagged up this fault :-

005137- secondary air injection system ; bank 2
P1411-002-insufficient flow - intermittent

Ive searched on here and read up on all the related posts but cant find anything conclusive - well at least anything that i understand !!

Ive checked all the hoses from the secondary air pump to the valves etc, but they all look in good condition are aren't kinked, ive also checked that ive got suction at the exhaust silencer valves and that the power valve works at 5.5k, which it feels like it does.

Anything else i should be looking for, or do i give up and head for the stealers ?? - ps in scotland, so cant really pop into somewhere like MRC or the like.

Thanks in advance.

I want to rule out the air pump itself, so tried to listen for it running this morning on startup, but cant be sure if its running as there is so much noise from the engine

Couple of questions -

1) does the secondary air pump run with the ignition on or only when the engine is running

2) where is the fuse for the secondary air pump

3) i assume its also got a relay, where is it

Cheers

just run the diagnostic using the ross tech tool.
you can start it manually using that.
