The RS4 will be my 5th VAG car in my 16 years of driving.
(GTI, A4, S4, Toureg, RS4)
The Audi flag will fly loooong and hard in my garage....and on the So Cal roadways....

Now, it's off to work now.
I'll get her up to 120 on the way, to not let any 'enthusiasts' down.... :-)
Where as I'm now leaving work and I'll be doing 120 to get home before all the traffic starts! :)
**and I had a jetta 1.8, A41.8 and S4 (with my big V8).

Painful. Ever driven a Honda 2000. It needs to be at 9000rpm constantly to keep it going.

And FSI's sound like diesels under load.

I can't wait, this is so exciting

I can't see any relation with a S2000. I agree that they need to be kept high to really work but why assume the RS4 will be like that.

My S4 revs to over 7krpm but doesn't need to be kept at that level to make progress. I think the S4 is more indicative of it that the S2000.

Well, actually, they are testing a 425hp motor that rl's at 8000
They are also testing a 450hp version that revs to 9000, but gets peak torque st 2800-6800.

I just don't know why folks whine about no turbos.

Even if everyone here wrote to Audi, they are not going to change thier new strategy of having V8 and V10 NA motors in S and RS cars...

Embrace it or just don't buy it.

That's because you've never tried a twin turbo V6 RS4. Its the whine that that makes them so nice. ;)

.....yeah - but imagine a V8 screaming at 8000 rpm...... oh that could be some serious fun, and as for the fsi, my mum has a 1.6fsi. It took ages to run in, but it is "back to the old school" in terms of noise, like the old golf gti's etc, a real working 4 pot noise - the A2 really shifts well with this engine.

Got to say - i'm excited, but not confirmed order - I want to await an RS4 plus!! I'm a bit miffed by the RS6+ strategy and will not get caught out again....
