Dry filters sorted Carbon Airbox MAF issues?

Post by coupe_bloke » Sun Dec 08, 2013 10:31 pm

Hi guys

I know lots of people have the Revolution or other induction kits, but some had experienced MAF issues which appeared connected to the oiled filter used as paer of the kit. I understand this has been resolved by changing the oiled filter to a dry one in the last few months... has anyone experienced any issues since they have changed to the dry filter?

Basically I'm ready to order a kit provided the issues seem to have been resovled!

Many thanks

Ben

fitting the kit is a bit of a fiddle so i bet alot of MAFs have been knocked and thats broken them also, but in theory there cant be any faults that could be thrown up now really, great piece of kit

Mine seems to have cured the problem! No other things wrong since fitting the dry filter. I am on my 3rd Genuine MAF because of Oil. The 2 new MAF's have been fitted with the filter in situ so i doubt that it was due to being heavy handed. It could on the other hand be due to heat with the new MAF location being directly above the manifold and less stuff in the way to block the heat getting to the MAF. Sadly when modifying beyond a manufacturers engineering things can go wrong so i have took it on the chin now that the problem has been rectified by PiperX and hoping i will not be buying more sensors.

Just to add that it would not put be off buying another and i think the RS4 should come with one from the factory as the noise reminds you of what you have waiting for abuse under the bonnet. It makes the car!!

+1

No issues for me either but it took nearly a year for the 1st one to give up completely.
