Steering Wheel S Button Replace and Badge

Post by rs4_avant_7 » Sun Dec 08, 2013 6:27 pm

has anyone replaced this, know what parts are required and how big a job it is, mine is worn off and just isn't meeting my standards, given everything else in the car is perfect and unmolested. Also I need to replace the badge but understand that I need the plastic aluminium part complete, has anyone found an alternative way of resolving that to avoid the steep cost of that part ?

thanks in advance

I too would like to know about the S button replacement. You can replace just the badge on the bottom of the wheel i got mine from ebay and it looks much better.

My "S" button is worn too. You have to get the entire alloy part that goes from the buttons on both sides and under the air bag. I can't remember how much it was but I think it may have been £150-200 from stealers.

thanks, cant see the badge on fleabay, there's one but it doesn't look right

I will speak to a stealer and see if I can get a deal on the buttons, that's not as bad as I thought, at least its not the whole wheel

I assume its pretty easy to remove the airbag , just a case of removing the power to avoid swallowing the thing accidently, unless anyone has some tips..

thks

I had the badge replaced by Audi about March this year... Slightly irritated last night to notice the paint seems to be wearing off it already!
