Race The Runway at Edinburgh Airport

Post by psglas » Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:31 pm

Spent Tuesday at the Race the Runway event at Edinburgh Airport. A great day out and a good chance to see how fast my RS4 really is. I'm probably a bit down on power as it's 6 years old and not been tuned but regardless I didn't stand a chance against most of the opposition.

There's a good write up on pistonheads here.

And a couple of youtubes of my runs here.

I'm gonna buy a V10 Audi for next year I think.

No idea, it was covered in RIng Stickers and he said it was heavily modified. In this company the RS4 sounds tame.

The runway was too short to reach full speed. Been much faster on the autobahm.

When I looked at what was in the carpark when I arrived, I had thought I was going to be lucky to make it past the first few runs, let alone make it into the semis - I was in the 911.

The distance was nowhere near long enough to see similar to either VMax or 30-130, and I was happy to go over 160mph there, but it was a good day overall and will probably try to get along to next years..

What flavour of 911 turbo were you running? 160mph is pretty good alright...

Mine's an unmodified Gen 1 Tiptronic. Did better than I'd hoped TBH.. :)
