The last 2 days I noticed that my RS4 holds back slightly when accelerating and changing gear. So lets say when in 2nd gear reving to 8000 revs, changing to 3rd gear and pressing full throttle again I notice it holds back 5000-6000revs. This doesn't happen every time but does worry me slightly.
The engine doesn't start immediately either when pressing the "start" bottom".

Could this be due to carbon build up?

Do you have to hold the start button down to make it start?

turn your traction control off!.
Well..actually this comment is spot on! This morning I gave it a try (again) and noticed that the cause is winter tyres + wet road. The traction control reduces very shortly power due to wheel spin.

I once red that its possible to deactivate the "check at start" via VCDS (ross-tech) but cannot find it back. As a result the car would't give "OK" when starting the engine.

Does anyone know where is can be deactivated?

Rob, if you are along about the bumper strip at the top of he bumper I have had mine sprayed phantom black as it would have been on a black optic car, and YoungBen had his done in carbon. But I think you meant the bit under the back bumper didn't you?
Not got rear grills on but a bit like mine? 5 post down......
