I did it myself. I Googled RS4 bumper removal and found a guide. Takes a bit of time to get the bumper off but once it's off the grill part is a doddle to change.

You didn't quite finish your question.
How much is it?
Do I remember how the grill surround is held?

I think it was just over £200 from the stealers for the grill and surround.
I can't remember how the surround is held. The grill I think had 4 screws securing it to the bumper. I could take a look at the old one but it is now buried under a load of other bits again. I can take a look tomorrow if that is the question you wanted answered.

That seems very cheap for a Black Optic RS4 Grill, which dealer did you get it from if you don't mind me asking?
Phantom Black R8 V10 plus, Capristo Exhaust
Phantom Black (B7) RS4 Saloon, MRC Stage 2
Mercedes E-Coupe 350CDi

I got it from my brother in law at Doncaster. With his discount I think it came to about £180. Without the discount I thought it was about £220. It was a long time ago so I might be a bit out. defo not £450 though!!

Although that number is for an RS4 grille I don't think you need one. Can't you buy a black optic grill from an S4 or S-line and just change the surround?

I have the part number with price written on a piece of paper at work. I can double check the number against that tomorrow.

Mike

If you have the P/no for the surround, that could be a winner - gonna Shop around for a grille price - usual Aberdeen tax might have been applied by the dealer

I don't think they sell the surround on it's own, but an s-line grill is probably cheaper than an RS4 one, so if there is nothing wrong with your actual grill this might be a cheaper way to do it. I've never changed the surround but I think I remember reading that it's possible.
