I took the chance I didn't have insurance! And my mate in his rs4 didn't either! I was getting quotes of silly money!

The same as every one else on there, apart from German registered cars of course as they can get insurance.

Just boils down to driving style, dont drive at ten tenths and you will be fine.......however....this is not to say that someone may crash into you.

Seems an age since I last went to the Ring..

Lot of the hard core ringers keep cars over there registered with German plates, or they at least did a few years ago, doubt things have changed.

Going there on the 16th August for our annual trip - cant wait.

As i understand it everyone on the continent has cover for the ring as standard - thair insurance carriers cant exclude it as it is technically a public toll road.

Its jut sthe UK were our insurance companies exclude the cover - although woul dbe interesting to see if that held up if someone took it to the european court.

Its similar to warranties on electrical items sold - in the Uk manufactures only give 12 months, in Europe they have to give 24 months, if you have an electical item fail in the UK after 12 monhts but before 24 months, if you push it they will pay up as we are part of the EU - just not many people know this.

Who is that with Dave? I have track day cover for the Ring, just won't cover TF days.

Skylimit events.

Book on mate.

We are heading out Sunday AM for arrival midday.

Rent4Ring Swift for afternoon TF.
Loadsa beer n steak in the eve.
Sleep off hangover in the morn.
Then half day closed track day.

If you get 10laps in (5x2) then its basically the same price as TF sessions yet no 3rd party issues and you can get track day insurance and obviously less traffic and better drivers (in theory)

No brainer IMO
