Jules

It's the way the car drives which is so different in sport mode after the remap. The carbon clean and remap (and in my case a stage 2 inlet manifold) doesn't make a massive difference to the performance, but when combined with the much more aggressive throttle map in sport mode, the car just feels much more eager. Post remap, this is especially noticeable when switching between normal and sport mode.

I agree, if you want massive hikes in ultimate "go" from a remap, you need forced induction to start with.

Agree. I also went from a mapped car to the standard Audi one ( was over written when SW0090 was installed and the car felt so underpowered it was unreal even with the mods i had.

Jules, it's the throttle response difference between sport and non sport mode which is the massive difference once mapped. We're not saying the cars have become much more powerful, I was merely pointing out that when you touch the accelerator in sport mode after mapping, the instant pull makes it feel like a forced induction car.
That combined with the full throttle available in the lower gears doesn't make the car more powerful but gives you the power quicker and for longer, ie better use of the power thats already there. The 14PS or so increase I got when mapping is unlikely to feel much different to the other 400 odd PS already there.

The figure of 397, was that before any work was carried out or after mods were done (but before mapping)? If that was before any work was done then that is very good!

Ok Lads,

I'll do a proper write up when I get home, all I can say at the moment is, by christ you can notice a difference for sure and I've not even pressed the sports button. Like someone mentioned in the thread above, it seems in normal driving (non sports mode) to be even more responsive and the noise of the Milltek is brilliant!!

As far as I know the car made 397 before anything was done to it and its now producing 447 after the map and mods, which I'm totally delighted with :biggrin3:

The engine was replaced in my car after around 17,000 miles, so it's only got 30,000 miles on it, and was really good as far as carbon build up goes according to Doug at MRC.

As I say I'll get more feedback up when I've done the long drive back to France, but for now I'm one happy punter :biggrin3:

And as far as Doug and his team at MRC goes, a big thanks indeed and

Wow, that's good results from those mods! But the important bit is how much better it is to drive!

Good result and gains from an NA engine. BTW, someone had a C6 RS 6 down at MRC for an 860PS conversion, the car came all the way from Taiwan to be tuned by the guys in Banbury, crazy!

sonny wrote:Depends on what map Surely? If its a generic, yea I can understand. But a custom map to suit the mods really do have a wow factor. I dont expect a NA car to turn into a FI car and if you do then some ppl need a reality check.
