You are absolutely right to hand these muppets off! It's a pain in the arse selling privately nowadays. Hope all is well mate.F@tBoyF@t wrote:I think the consensus is that any prospective buyer would've made contact by 'phone first.
My suspicions arose when I had an email from "Ting Tong" who could barely string two words together.

Looks like normal stuff to ask for when doing proper checks on a car.
For full HPI you need V5 serial number, issue date, Vin, etc. I always ask for these details and if you guys don't, beware, you could end up with a car that has been accident damaged, has finance on it, stolen recovered, etc. Seem to recall someone recently experiencing this with a car bought from an Audi dealership
which had been badly accident damaged and repaired to a poor standard
Having a copy V5 won't get them a key for the car because they need the car for this also I believe and / or the other key.
What you are absolutely right about is the poor grammer and spelling, sure fire sign that it is a scammer
Steer clear, another buyer will come along, one who is real and wants your car but be ready for them to ask the same questions just in a more grammatically correct way
