New Alloy Wheel Cost

Post by mamjlc » Wed Jan 02, 2013 1:32 pm

Hi all and Happy New Year!

Firstly I should introduce myself as a new member here after purchasing a Daytona Grey, saloon a few weeks back.

Anyhow unfortunately I have fallen victim to a pot hole a few days ago cracking my offside from wheel and ruining a brand spanking new tyre. :(

With not many of the alloys kicking around on the second hand market at present I.e. ebay I have contacted the dealer this morning for some prices to which I nearly fell off my chair

£775 inc Vat for new alloy in silver
£16 inc Vat for new valve
£100 inc for TPS sensor

With a Goodyear F1 @ £215 fitted bringing in a grant total of just over £1100

Cost of the alloy seems pretty steep considering. Does anyone know if this price is about right or of any alternative supplier (getting my garage to prices for me via TPS)?

Alternatively does anyone have any second had wheels for sale?

Hi and welcome,

What about these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-OEM-O ... 4d08083ca4

£1100 + P&P gets you the whole set, recon them and you have 3 genuine spares left over.

The New from Audi price probably seems about right, but I personally wouldn't go through the trouble and expense of buying OEM wheels direct from Audi unless I was really stuck, try and make do (if possible!) and hopefully a genuine individual OEM one will pop up on ebay or similar soon at a decent price, they generally do but i guess this time of year isn't the best...

FON and welcome!

RS4-AL is right - don't bother with the full dealer price (unless you just claim on your insurance - that's what I did a few years back when a blow out slewed my Scoob off the road and took out both n/s rims on a kerb stone)

£150 - £200 is about right for a single wheel when they come up, or get a copy as a stop gap and sell it on later. And unless you were really really unlucky with where the pothole clipped the rim, you shouldn't need a new TPMS, as you just re-use the old one

I've not used them but did find the following a while back

Global Trade Germany - http://www.quattrotec.com/felgen/8E0601025AG.htm

or their ebay pages
£1,450 + postage - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orig-Audi-RS4 ... 5895cb8d7c

Just re-read and realised that you are looking for just one wheel and not a set. I eventually tracked a spare one down on ebay but it took me a while. Good luck

Yes eBay & patience - I found an unused one (without TPS) for 120 in the end - they have an odd offset so whilst don't come up often, when they do doesn't seem to be a lot of competition either.

TPS can be bought for about half that - http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/tpms/h ... ms_sensors not sure if this is ex VAT but still a saving...
