Re: STOLEN 21/12/12
So sorry to hear that, so and so's don't achieve nice things when they can steal them
I live in south london and the only two things that help me out a little is I park on the road and my partners german shepherd goes berserk every time anyone comes within 75 yards of the house. PITA most of the time but makes me check the car.

Re: STOLEN 21/12/12
Very sad to hear this, especially as I don't live too far from it. I was followed a couple of months ago from oldbury by a black x5 with at least 4 people in, it had blacked out windows, luckily I was travelling in a convoy of two cars and we noticed it following. Some fast cornering took care of them. Hope you find it

They're always fitted in very few places (to make life easier for the installers), so the thieves don't need to look in many places to find it.Overlord wrote:I can't believe tracker can't find it, how can someone find the device and disable it?
Don't believe everything that you're told...Overlord wrote:I thought tracker could cover underground carparks? Containers etc?

Re: STOLEN 21/12/12
Doesn't it depend on the type of tracker you have? The older ones required a gps signal so therefore if in a container or underground there'd be no signal. I thought newer / better ones use radio frequencies as well which would help a bit.
Re: STOLEN 21/12/12
No quite - all tracker trackers hav been VHF based. Originally that's all they offered and the only receivers were in police cars.MikeFish wrote:Doesn't it depend on the type of tracker you have? Now GPS tech is cheap enough that's the entry model now.
As for trackers... - 99% behind the glove box. Pointless.
Almost worth fitting a dummy box that's easy to find as a decoy.

Massively glad to hear that you are ok. Also glad you didn't try any heroics, it is a car and not worth it - let them have it.
They may not get caught this time but they won't get away with it forever.
Make sure you appreciate and enjoy your Christmas.
All the very best.

gutted for you - i use to live in B68 a few years back and many of my mates still do - the main thing is you are safe forget about the car , that's what insurance is for.Overlord wrote:Cheers guys, it was taken from Oldbury, B68.
Re: STOLEN 21/12/12
That's shocking.
It would take much less than a knife to make me walk away from my car. It's not worth it.

Un-fecking-believable J.
I cant believe this has happened for a second time. This black one was even minter than the blue one you had.
If there's anything I can do, just let me know - at least you werent injured

Sorry to read about your horrific experience, being car jacked is my worst fear with the S4, as above I keep an eye on who is following me. About three months ago I dreamt about being carjacked in my S4, never have I been so glad to wake up in my life. Passengers ask why I leave such a gap to the car in front at traffic lights, I always want to be able to get around the car in front and 'go' if I have to

Thanks Max, just gutted.....again!
I'm not having another.
I always do the same at lights, also closely watch to see if I'm being followed, stay safe people, there's some horrid people out there!
No news, tracker activated but sadly no signal or trace at all

Sorry to hear this, will keep a look out as only a few miles away.
Glad you are OK.
These cars are so distinctive and the police are well aware of their popularity amongst crims, surely one day soon they will move on to something else

BU&&ER!!
Glad you and yours got out of the situation unharmed. Must have been a helluva shock.
Trouble is that home kind of means 'safe' and 'normal' so it's easy to take your eye off the ball. I know I do when I get within about a mile of the nest. I'll be a lot more vigilant now I've read of your episode, so for that 'I thank you'.
All the best. I'm sure it will be resonating around in your head for quite a while but I hope that you and your family can put it behind you enough to have a Happy Christmas and look forward to a much better New Year.
Rob.
