New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Far from harsh its an honest opinion. The b7 oem wheel is very difficult to beat as I think it suits the car so well. The best aftermarket wheels I've seen are nill's old ones, looked oem with a concave
1*** hp TTE C6 rs6 saloon and the ultimate WB B5
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Well I am still deciding whether I like them or not so all comments for and against are welcome. If when the new year arrives I am not happy with them then I will change back to the OEM's and put these on eBay. But we'll see, I want to give myself the chance to see if they are for me. I agree that wheels on a car are a toughy and make a massive difference to the overall look. The standard alloys really suit the RS4 and I still have them tucked away if I decide I need them. But I'll see in a few weeks!
Cheers for all the comments guys.

Dude, they are lush! And different. Some people are just set in their ways and afraid of change! Haha!
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Im not feeling them at all, reason, they look to harsh for the car and makes it look cheap.
I know you know this, but it def needs lowering as it looks like a Tonka Toy.
Good on you for being different and all that.
Some say we are stuck in our ways some say we are masters of style

Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Well here's a link to a normal pic just to give it a little perspective. I am not trying to prove a point as to be honest I am still not sure whether I like them or not as I put in an earlier post. Be interested in having other pics of RS4's on 20 inch wheels including how they set their stance for a point of reference. As its set up now I get a slight rubbing over speed bumps on the front end above 15-20 mph.

Maybe Sonny, maybe. I personally live the OEM alloys, BUT, I'm a massive fan of individuality and being different. I think they are so different that it works. But that is personal opinion.

Hey im all for individuality and being different, its what makes the world go round.
Just not a fan of those, maybe if the car was lowered it would look better?
Iv always been a fan of nice wheels, but have always said that the wheel should not draw attention away from the body of the car.

Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
I agree with others that say you need to lower it to set the wheels off, thats exactly why ive bought some coilovers for my S6 fitted with 20's. without lowering it the wheels can overwhelm the car a bit as they stand out too much, a subtle drop will bring it all back together IMO
By the way Liam, you need to try my 20's out on your S5 when im home. They are the ones you want as ive read from your other posts

Haha.....maybe.
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
How much have guys managed to lower their cars without scuffing over every speedbump and using which set ups with 20's fitted. Already found that 10mm spacers on the front end have the wheels/tyres sitting a little too wide so got 5mm's on the way, on the back however they sit just nice at the arch.
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Just to add my thoughts, I cant make my mind up whether I like them or not, (I think they look a bit like the 19's on a E46 M3) I think the problem is the standard wheels when fitted with spacers just look so right on the car it's hard to find some thing better, I have spend thousands of pounds on wheels in the past on various cars even brought two new sets for one car but I don't feel the need with my RS4 all i have purchased for mine is spacers,
Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Cheers for the input API. I can see the similarities and your not the first to point that out. To be honest its the bright silver I am not feeling. I think in the matt silver we have on our standard wheels they would look better and less out of sorts with the car. Also the wheels have black portions that are difficult to see in these images. Daytonamart spotted me in town today and is the first to see them on the car and he's posted he liked them.
It's always difficult to tell what works without seeing them fitted. With these I have taken a big risk basing my choice as we often do having seen an image online. But if they don't feel right there's always eBay hehe and another purchase with what money I get back, the quest may continue! Lowering is next on my list of things to do probably before I make the final call.

Re: New wheels are finally fitted, now rolling on 20's
Might be an idea to take some colour pics of your car then photo Shop the wheels in a few different colours (black or gray maybe) Then maybe you could get them painted, I am guessing that would be cheaper than selling them on and buying a new set and would also give you some time to see if you get to like them,
