Yeah... was a bit over priced but the colour, history and spec swung it for me! Gonna try and get it over to MRC in the next few weeks just for piece of mind. All these comments about fuel on here.. I work in saudi arabia filled my work vehicle up this morning 90ltrs for 11GBP. Now that pisses you off when you go home and get screwed by the goverment! :piss:

I know what you're saying but life is about a lot more than the cost of fuel?

I know where I'd rather live & it ain't Saudi Arabia.

Can they serve beer on the plane ?

I'm in the states quite often and always have to check the fuel gauge when I fill up the rental cars as don't believe how little it costs to fill up over there - £35 for a mid size SUV

We get screwed in the Uk.

On a positive note though at least petrol has come down the last couple of weeks - but does make me laugh when it's at least 5p a ltr cheaper in Southend than where I live in Kent.

Saudis not a bad place to be fair.... I've worked all over the middle east Saudi, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq etc etc and barring Dubai it's about the best. Granted you can't get a beer but that's not a bad thing you get 35 days detox every 2 months :-)

Changing the subject a little... I was going to take the car to MRC to be checked over when I'm back in the UK next month. Do you think I'm better taking it to an Stealer for a full check over or there's a place pretty close to me called JBS in chesterfield?..

I bought my car out of Sheffield.

Two services had been done by JBS Chesterfield - I spoke to them & they seemed a decent outfit with a decent rep.

I've subsequently had the car serviced by Yeovil Audi and they accepted the JBS service history no questions asked (genuine Audi parts used) & proved it by replacing the faulty DRC FoC in January 2012 under the terms of the Audi goodwill scheme.

Worth giving them a chance - labour rate two years ago was £50 ph.

Ok sounds good.... I take it they can check out the DRC for any problems like a AMD would? Reason I'm asking is as far as I can tell the cars never had a problem with em... Only thing on my paperwork (and there's a lot of it) is a Nav unit replacement under warranty in 2011

Lovely car and a great colour. Very nearly went after it myself when it was for sale on the forum. Good luck with it.

Guys

The car had a new nav unit installed in jan 11 under warranty... I don't suppose this would have been on of the later models would it that everyone seems to retro fit.. Is there any quick way of telling? It's also got the iPod dock in the glove box. But no track info comes up you can only play through the cd changer menu. I guess I've just answer my own question then. Lol it must be the older unit right?

The 2 knobs on the right hand side had silver surrounds on the later models as far as I know. I'm sure you can probably tell by looking at software versions via the menu.
It's quite obvious when looking at the graphics too if you have experience with one or the other I.e mine looks a world apart from the graphics on the wife's S3 with the later unit.

Whereabouts in east midlands are you, top middle or bottom?
