RS4 warranty options

Post by Apowers » Tue Nov 13, 2012 10:45 pm

Is the Audi extended warranty worth it on the B7 RS4?

£1600 a year is alot. Could keep £1600 aside for any issues instead. Its unlikely that all 4 shocks would need replacing/repair I would have thought?

Got a quote also from warranty wise, it was £1k...though just got a txt saying they're doing 15% off in Nov.

The DRC is a delicate issue - it used to cost a lot to replace but you can fit KWs for approx. £1000 all round now so it's not a show stopper. I run my car without warranty and save a little each month for if the snags arrive. Others insist on warranty and sell their cars before the Audi warranty expires. Personally, I think the small print in warranties gets them out of a lot so I don't take much insurance in general therefore I'm not expecting to get bailed out when something goes wrong. Search for warranties on here as there was a recent thread on here.

I guess it's the car's age/mileage? I'd just go talk to Audi - see if they can knock something off for you.

Looking to buy a car at the moment with no warranty & called Audi for a quote, said it was £1650

25k mile car, FASH, he didnt ask any other questions apart from mileage & service history

I asked why it was so much & he just said that car was that much!

RS4 warranty options

Realistically what can actually go wrong that will a) cost over £1650 and b) be covered by these poxy 'wriggle out if anything' warranty companies. I'm thinking only SERIOUS engine/gearbox/electrical malfunctions and I've not known of many (if at all) cases. If it breaks, I'll pay to fix it.

They obviously pay out far less than they get in so the odds are largely in your favour. Maybe if the car has an unknown history for the first year a warranty has its merits but after that its a no brainer to me.

Buy a good forum car and enjoy!!
