ASH555

Another factor is which dealer you take it to. Mine's now going to Camberley already having been back to Swindon. Knocking was first on front o/s which was replaced. Now the rear o/s rattles like a box pf spanners and front o/s has started to knock again. Camberley have the 'special' tool (don't ask me) themselves that others only borrow plus a guy that knows RS4s.

If that fails, MRC here I come

That'll be Rob and Stuart. I'll leave them to decide which is the guy that knows RS4's and which is the tool :D

DRC replacement costs

TPS doing shocks for £165 ish + vat each.
We're just fitting a full set + front hoses to mates car at work
Local VW. Audi indie garage said they would re-pressurise the system for £100
Audi wanted £500 just for re-pressure alone.
Gone but not forgotten boohoo !!!

Had all four shock absorbers changed FOC by Yeovil Audi under the terms of a goodwill gesture by Audi UK (4 years old/40k & surprisingly with mixed AUDI/INDIE but full service history)
I think that 5 years or 75k is the cut-off parameters.

Is the DRC problem a one time fix (ie the new parts are better), or should you budget for these needing to be done regularly?

(Am ready for the FON by the way :)).
