looks to be a charge cooler rather than a intercooler. would think cooling of some sort under that bonnet would be pretty important as heat will play a big part on performance! with the charger sitting in the V under a manifold/plenum i should think heat soak would be quite bad without sufficient cooling?

Awesome work by the lads at MRC i hope to visit for stage 2 one day and perhaps a charger in the future. Yet to go out in a car thats charged to be converted so will carry on enjoying what i have.

It has coolers in the charger, the rad is for coolant that gets pumped through the supercharger ( not hot air like a intercooler). Is the official name a charge cooler then Ben?

I'm a bit of a pedant on this...
Charge cooler is simy anything that cools incoming air prior to combustion.
Doesn't matter if its air or liquid both are still charge coolers.

You then get three types of charge cooling named based on where they are fitted in relation to forced induction components.
Before cooler (before any turbo/supercharger), inter cooler (between 2 stages if forced induction) and after cooler (after all forced induction).
On road cars almost all charge coolers are of the after cooler type and only once have I seen a true intercooler.

However it's found it's way in common talk for intercooler to mean an air cooled charge cooler and the generic 'charge oiler' to mean liquid cooled.

Hi Roy,
Thanks.
No its NOT a wrap! Its was special factory order colour (2.5k option I was told!) and is the only original Ibis White avant in the UK.

Cheers Danny, Well you would certainly know mate! Looking forward to the meet with the wide body.
