It's not the Pirelli's aree crap, just that they are good for such a short period of time, usually less than 10k miles. Soft and grippy tends to burn away quickly. That's the reason I'm not that keen on Evo's tyre tests, they use brand new tyres and sod the consequences of value for money and longevity. Cont SC3's won in 2010 IIRC and they were the worst tyres I've ever used on an Audi but OK during their initial 1k miles.

TimDogg,

Thanks for your PM and your interest...

I bought the Sessantas in Belgium a little over 1 year ago - they cost something like EURO 1,300. The only motoring I did on them was a trip from Brussels to Nice and back, then Brussels to the Lake District (via MRC), then back to Brussels and on to southern Germany - I reckon just under 5,000 km in all. They look like new.

They are in storage in an Audi garage recommended to me by Quattro GmbH. It's an excellent place in Neuburg an der Donnau http://www.autohaus-prueller.de/ near Ingolstadt. A real 'bonne adresse' if you ever need any work doing in that area - ask for Martin (although he doesn't speak English too well).

I'm sure I could come to an agreement on price with anyone interested, who happened to be in that area (I know - it's a bit of a long shot!). I would suggest something like EURO 800 for the five.

I'll put this in the classifieds as you suggested...
