I've not heard the res/non-res Millys side by side, but eventually decided to go for resonated as I understand that gutting the pre-cats will turn the volume up quite significantly. As it's my daily driver, and will be transporting sutts jnr when he leaves hospital I didn't want the exhaust to be too ott. Hope I have got the balance right!

De-coke
Resonated and valved cat-back Milly
Pre-cats gutted
Custom re-map to suit (effectively stage 2). This is still at £250.

Rolling road figures will be taken at the start, after the de-coke and then again after the rest of the work is completed.

Early July cannot come soon enough...
I'm having the exact same mods done to mine at MRC in July... will be good to compare the figures afterwards :D

When you say significantly is it really a massive difference? I already have the resonated & valved Milly fitted and don't think i could live with the drone if it got too much louder!

I've got the non res and believe me the drone is great when the kids are in the back, you can't hear them moaning

Cool :beerchug:

Not sure just how much louder the gutted pre-cats will make it, I guess I'm erring slightly on the side of caution (?!) with the resonated system.

Non res is an easy change anyway.

I am thinking of getting a de-coke and possibly a milltek if the price is right. Has anyone used AmD at Woking rather than Essex?

It is much more convenient for me but wondering if all the expertise is out East!

Also my car already has an APS remap on it, is there much point in getting another remap? I do wonder how "custom" these things really are and imagine AmD / MRC / APS adjust very similar variables in the tables of code.

I've used AMD in Woking, they fitted my milltek and chipped the car, regarding the de-coke and cold air feed mod I used mms technik in sunbury on Thames, both very trustworthy

I'm glad I've got this work booked in for early July, and it can't come soon enough - had the first proper chance to compare the RS4 with the Mrs' Z4M coupe on an empty stretch of dual carriageway last night between roundabouts. Side by side in third gear I was in the RS4 at 7.5k rpm and trying, and she was easily pulling clear in the BMW. Other than a Schnitzer exhaust I am not aware of it having any work done by previous owners, although a BMW tech that has driven it described it as being a particularly good one.

I know the Z4MC is about 250 kg lighter, but even so it should theoretically be giving away at least 70 bhp. Makes me think my engine is well coked up at 60,000 miles, and it does feel a bit strangled at the top end in comparison.

Morning,

We are seperate companies and not associated with each other at all. I don't think they would be able to do the de-coke for you. Plus it is best to have a dyno before and after so you know what you have gained from it. Sometimes they don't even need a de-coke, we had a car in last week (quite low mileage) dyno'd it before hand and it made pretty much standard power, not like the rest we have had in that have been quite abit under. We recommend the customer wait until he had some more miles on the car. Saved him £500 and losing his car for 3 days!

For a £500 de-coke, free fitting on a Milltek and half price remap offer you would need to come to us AmD Essex.

If you would like more information and prices please email me ben@amdessex.com

Ben
