Overall I absolutely love this car. Had the RS4 for 6 years and it seems quite dated (not surprising given age) compared to the AMG. Options I went for over standard were:
AMG Performance pack (power up from 457bhp - 487bhp, bigger (red) brake calipers)
AMG Limited Slif Differential
AMG Performance Suspension
Carbon fibre outside and inside
Harmon Kardon sound system
The power this car puts down is unbelievable in Sport+ and the exhaust note is incredible. I don't think there is any need to fit a custom exhaust as it is really loud at all times. Not far off the Tubi for the RS and more subtle. Ride is stiffer than the RS4 which had SS+ but it is comfortable all the time, even on UK roads. Steering control and feedback is so much more and obviously with rear wheel drive you can feel it bite down in the corners when pushing it. All the tech for satnav, ipod, hard disk register, DAB etc. is standard and a lot better than RS4 given the age gap. Auto gearbox is a first for me and took some getting used to but would be reluctant to ever go back to a manual stick as you just need to drive it. Can be driven in manual mode with paddles and makes plenty of noise downshifting and up-shifting to bark out the back.
Downsides, non-really apart from the foot handbrake, which is known and can be lived with. Have driven it in the really wet up and down the UK and yes you can put the traction control on at any speed if you slam your foot down in Sport+. As long as you know what to expect from the rear and respect it then it can be dealt with. Will put winter tyres on later in the year to see how it handles up here in the cold north of Scotland.
Still got the RS4 at the moment and although it was a great car I'm glad I've moved on as the AMG is so much more fun.
Probable mods will be a set of HRE P43SC wheels and a carbon-fibre diffuser to finish it off.
