Brake problem?

Post by GraRS07 » Tue May 29, 2012 10:16 pm

For the past two mornings when I start car and drive off, there seems to be excessive play in the brake pedal. This only happens for the first 5-10mins. Even when i start the car 4-5 hours later it seems fine. Ive checked fluid levels, all ok, maybe a servo problem?
Any ideas?

never ever start the car in the first 5-10mins, always get up early and start it 4-5 hours later, problem solved...or is it solved as i'm drinking red wine?

Docs say that the FSI engines have a brake booster pump to help build vacuum when required.
Wonder if this isn't working and the engine vacuum takes longer to accumulate in the brake resevoir.
IIRC this can be tested with Vag Com.
