RS4 Avant - what to do...?
RS4 Avant - what to do...?
Hi,
I am another potential B7 Avant purchaser and have seen a car I like... Now just need to make decision!
I currently have a 130i BMW and a Z4 Coupe that I would be trading which are both similar age to the RS4 but have a lot lower mileage 20k vs 60k. I need an avant as I have two big dogs who currently just fit in the 130. Trouble is I do like my current cars and want to make the right decision, which I know is down to me!!
The car I am looking at has some Audi warranty remaining... Is this worth having? I have also seen another with bucket seats which I like but comes with no warranty. Having read various DRC, oil pipe stories I am thinking the Audi warranty would be useful.
I have also read that the value on B7s is dropping due to a combination of high road tax and fuel costs... Not an issue as such for me as the tax will be cheaper than the two BMWs and I do limited mileage. Is this true about the values or do you think they are fairly steady at the present time?
Your thoughts and opinions are very welcome...

Most certainly if you don;t have deep pockets, make sure you get one with a warranty. New to the RS myself, had it almost two months, loving every min and i brought it as i need a good family car, yeh, RS family car, it's mental when you want it to be and discreet when you don;t. Warranty for me was a must, purchased from a dealer and had a new clutch and radiator within first month, all at their expense, almost £4k, so warranty would be worth every penny if you were unlucky with the car.
I've learnt lots from the wealth of experience of the guys on this forum, all have been very helpful, if you can get the cars reg and post it, maybe someone on here make know of it's history. One thing i would say with my little / next to nothing experience on this car, GO AND BUY ONE, THEY'RE AWESOME !!!!
all the best

Values have went down recently but so has every other performance car, i predict they will drop again if the new B8 is any good, but i think it will level out by end of the year, get one they are awesome.
Re: RS4 Avant - what to do...?
A good one will always be worth good money, all a dip in price will do is show up all the crap out there.
Expect to pay £24k for a good low mileage example, maybe a little more for Avant
