Bet there has been some money put into that...notice the shaved door handles.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Wouldn't it be more economical to buy the cheapest straight RS4 money can buy at about 18k and stick a diesel engine in it?

Wow that is a lot of work and money gone into that car! I bet the auction ends at a higher price than what you can buy the real thing for on AutoTrader / Pistonheads.

Haven't read the entire thread but I've got one point to make. Coasting downhill in neutral actually uses more fuel in most cars that it would if you coasted down in top gear. In most cars when you coast in neutral they inject no fuel, or a very small lubricating amount and the momentum of being in gear keeps the engine/alternator running. When you're in neutral it has to inject fuel to run the engine as if you were sitting still. Granted there isn't much in it but I gather the hyper milers keep in gear down hill and just try to carry their speed as much as possible.

True hypermilers accelerate down hill to get as much momentum for as little fuel as posisble.
Granted though when you're at the speed limit or as fast as you want to go it's better to be in gear.
