A few months ago I had an occasionally knock just as described here. It gradually got worse over a couple of months until minor bumps in the road would cause the loud knock. It sounded like it was from the rear nearside.
Audi spotted a leaking shock during a service so I got the shock replaced and DRC system recharged on DRC warranty. Since the replacement the knock has completely cleared up. During the test drive after the replacement I was talking to the mechanic about it, and he said it was probably due to the valve mounted in the rear of the car and low DRC oil pressure.

Re: Occasional Knock
Sounds like i may have a slowly falling DRC system then
i have noticed the knock becoming more frequent although its still only every now and again. My car is 07 plate with 53k miles and has never had any DRC work done to it. I think I might be in the minority here so I am just waiting for something to go wrong and if it does I hope its before its 5th B day!
Question: If for example the front nearside shock failed, would Audi replace both fronts or would they only replace the defective parts. i.e. the one broken?
