Guide to price?

Post by Leodiensian » Thu Jan 05, 2012 4:54 pm

Hi All,

Since buying my RS4 a year ago I have not been looking at the forum so much and have lost track of prices (although I know that after relative stability they are dropping). My expanding collection of babies require an “upgrade” to either a 4.2 Q7 (I know…) or maybe an RS6 Avant . I wonder if the wisdom of the forum could give a guide to private, trade-in and dealer selling prices? I would be very grateful. By the way, you all know this but, I think the B7 RS4 has one of the best engines ever built.

Phantom Black B7 RS4 Saloon
Registered November 2006 (2006/56 plate) therefore colourless indicators not orange
1 previous owner
Low mileage – 23k
FASH – only entrusted to Rob at Camberley Audi since I’ve had it
Black leather/carbon fibre interior
Non-solar sunroof
Recaro sports seats (not buckets – I looked for these specifically to give better rear leg room)
Immaculate/showroom level exterior and alloys
Vredesteins at 6mm all round
New brake pads all round and new rear discs a week ago
Very good interior consistent with low mileage – fine creases to driver-side bolster
Otherwise stock

God this this like an advert already… now I’m depressed.

Only fed Castrol Edge and Shell V-Power since I’ve had it.

And finally despite low mileage it’s my daily driver and I know how to take care of the engine: never above 5000rpm until oil it at 95 deg C but driven through the rev range and up to 7500 rpm briefly 2 – 3 times per day. Very healthy feel with clear kick at 5500 rpm.

Any way – any insight would be great.

The spec is so important when buying... Yours is almost there apart from the seats - some like 'em, i don't. Buckets all the way,,,
If you can find a buyer i reckon you'd get 21500- 22500k for it privately. Times are hard and i drive a hard bargain.

Thats my 2 pence worth. I've just bought an avant so know the market quite well.

Basically its worth what someone is willing to pay for it and how desperate you are to sell. Some cars on pistonheads and AT have been advertised for months and months and months!

I would say slightly higher due to low milage, agree on seats though.

However for trade be prepared to be bum scuttled for about 18k, IMO only

Good luck anyway!!!!!

I've read a few times (both on this and other forums) that Recaro's command a higher price due to rarity. Everyone has their preference, but supply and demand rule the roost...

I'd say slightly higher that fokker bro - send your car to a detailer for £100 ish, put it on pistonheads for £24K, and take £23k, I reckon that's right with the low mileage.
