Disappointed to hear that, because coming from a D2 S8 the C5 interior is a bit of a let down to be honest. I really thought the E60 interior would be nicer considering the E39 interior is much better then the C5 IMO, and I find it hard to believe the C5 drive (handling) is on par with the E60. Do you have any photos of the two?
I am not sure if its just because the RS6 I have is an immaculate example but I personally prefer the leather in the rs6 to my M5 and my M5 has the full extended merino leather which was something like a £5k option new. The rs6 has done 80k yet the interior is just perfect even the driver bolster! The M5 is by far the best car I have owned the way it can take corners for a car of that size is immense, as others have said rightly the M5 truly comes alive above a 100, which is not something that can really be used in the uk exactly the same as the 996 turbo I had before. My comparison of the two is that the M5 is a drivers car fact... the C5 RS6 is an extremely comfortable and is easier to drive fast because of its torque and is immensely practical. I ve put some pics in this post. the M5 is totally immaculate too but i just feel the Audi interior is nicer. Fuel consumption on the M5 over the 2000 miles I have done has been 14.4 which has been very mixed driving. Like I have already said the e60 m5 is amazing but I change every 2-3 months so it will be time for a change again and to tick another WANT off the list!

Lol it was a bit wet . :D

I think for every day fast road driving their wont be much difference but on track The extra weight and flex would be more noticeable ..

IMHO it's a great handling cab and goes really . I enjoy having the cab as its like having 2 cars in 1

It probably goes better but there's no way it sounds better, has the noise of a Subaru by all accounts. That outgoing Beemer V10 is very special indeed.

The new M5 is very nice indeed my M5 was on a display with the new one at Sytners in Coventry the other weekend for the new M5's launch. when dropping mine off next to it the sales guy started the new one up and my god does it sound good for a standard exhaust! Lots of pops and bangs! the noise was amplified as it was in a multi storey car park but yes it does sound extremely raw but in a different way of course to the V10 which I personally prefer the screaming noise.

Like the sound of 10 cherries popped in unison. Beautiful.

After I sold my B5 RS4 i did hunt for a nice E60 M5 . Coming from a 495 bhp car I wanted something pretty fast and exciting.....Drove a couple of M5 and I thought I would be blown away ...but I haven't been at all !! I come out of the car each time thinking "is that it ??" Fantastic looking car but that gear box is useless !!! With the M5 it is everything or nothing pretty much like a F1 I suppose . You need to rev it really high all the time to make it move, there is not much torque available low an at mid rev band . Coming from my RS4 B5 I found it so much hard work and unexciting too. It did sound awesome and the steering feel was great. I did try few B7 RS4 and they were much more fun to drive. I think a really healthy RS cab would be quite nice to drive especially in the summer with the top down hearing the sound coming out of the Milltek !!!!! Plus it will not be as juicy as the M5 !! :biggrin3:
