I have managed to find this: http://www.knfilters.com/instructions/57-0574_inst.pdf

Although it indicates its for the previous model it looks very similar - or is that just my untrained eye?!

Does it looks the same to you?

Other than that am stumped for now!!

many thanks

That's not right so don't use it!

Quick guide

Air snorkel (driver side) in 3 parts. Front part attached to front grille secured with two black screws on grille top, remove and pull front and middle flexi part snorkel out. Rear section of snorkel needs a firm tug upward and will come out of airbox.
Disconnect MAF sensor from airbox housing using small Phillips screwdriver to lever catch and then pull off. Should not need force.
Unscrew large Jubilee clip holding flexi hose that connects to where MAF sensor is on airbox housing and then goes under c/f rocker cover from. Prise off flexi hose by pushing toward rocker cover (always found when engine is warm this is easier as it means flexi has heat in it and is more pliable bit of a pain when cold).
To front side of airbox ( when looking in fron the front bumper) there is a pipe will L bend on it straight into box that you also need to disconnect. Just a case of squeezing retaining clip with two fingers either side and will pull off.
Two screws holding airbox together, unscrew. Open airbox toward engine and then lift cover up and out toward you when standing at the side of engine bay. You should then have access to the filter. You may have to jiggle or press against some of the other pipes to get the airbox lid out but they are robust so you won't damage them.

Refitting is reverse process. 10 minute job, maximum.

Wish i had this when i fitted mine - drove me mad, not to mention the loss of a lot of skin.

Managed to get the air filter in though - but required me taking lots of things off that probably didnt need to come off.

Much harder than fitting the air filter on my old S4
Current: MK7 Golf R, Lapiz Blue 5 dr
Gone and missed: 2006 Sprint Blue B7 RS4 Avant. Non res valved Milly.
Gone: B6 S4. Noggy BLue. AMD Stage 3 (Milteck Res, Sports Cats, AMD Chip, Piper Cross Air Filter) ECS Drilled/Slotted Rotors, EBC Red Stuff Pads.

THANKS AGAIN PG! Faultless instructions, saved me skinning various knuckles to. If anyone else wants to attempt installing a new panel filter - the above is all you need + a few screwdrivers. Havent had chance to take her for a spin yet but sounds slightly different to me when idle and much skinnier than the stock filter i removed. :beerchug:
