Best tyres for RS4?

Post by wolfgang » Fri Nov 04, 2011 10:09 pm

Guys, had my MOT today and the car sailed through. However, my tyres are down to 4mm so I'm thinking of getting a new set before Winter takes hold. Around a year ago I would have gone for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics. However I know that Michelin have a new tyre on the block and F1 Asymmeytric 2 tyres are also out.

I want to stick with stock sizes so what's the general consensus on the best tyres for the RS4 at the moment?

I think this has been discussed on here before ;-)

Costco - Pilot Sport 3 (255 x 35 x 19) - £287.98 each but they're running their 20% off deal.

£921.54 for the best tyres money can buy.

The reviews in magazines for the Supersports are good but I can't remember if any members have tried them? Plus the Supersports are seriously expensive...

There's a few of us on here with them they are superb as Dave says expensive but well worth it. I got them when they were first released for £790 there no where near that now

Costco in Reading would'nt even give me a quote when i went in there last week. Apparently they are not allowed to put PS3's or Supersports on RS4's. As you can imagine i laughed and walked out. :knob:

PSS are indeed fabulous. Have recently sold my RS4, but fitted a set about 6 months back.

First class - don't know how they do it, but better grip and it seemed wear. Really good turn in.

I fitted stock 255/35, and did not bother with the Audi RO1 fitment (not sure that they do it yet/at all in the PSS, but i believe only needed for the prior model RS6).

Just fitted another set of Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on mine - £650 from Camskill.
Last set lasted getting on for 20K, and they're especially good in the snow!
