Avus with black wheels please

Post by Jonesy07 » Fri Nov 04, 2011 9:32 pm

Hi guys

As the title says, has anyone got any pics as I am thinking of having mine done.

Have done the usual searches and not come up with much.

Cheers

I was going to get black wheels for my Avus. I think it would look good if you have the black optic pack as well although there's not many fans of black wheels on this forum.

I know, I was not expecting too many thumbs up! They need a referb and I have black optics so I think it would look good IMO.

Search on Steve_70 on here - he had an Avus Avant with Titan wheels I think. Don't recall seeing any B7 RS4's with black wheels but I'm sure there's a couple of B5's out there.

I've got daytona avant with optics, did the mirrors and wheels in Matt/ satin black to match but after a year I'm thinking it's too Essex and going to change them to audi Titan.

Hi, very nice looking combo. I have just bought an Avus Avant and was considering darkening the alloys but not necessarily as much as black, more a graphite shade- anyone done this? Also, what are options for getting the exhaust tips done, mine are v dirty and would look better either cleaned up or given the matt black treatment per your picture?

Thanks. My exhaust is Miltek which i had powder coated matte black along with my wheels. If you're looking to change your exhaust, some of the companies offer a black tip option. Some other guys are using high temp paint that seems to be holding up. There are some DIY's in the quattroworld forums.

Either paint the tips as mentioned,or get some autosol (metal polish) and give them a good clean, you will be amazed how well they will

My HRE's were originally matt black but I didn't like it as you can't see the detail, gloss charcoal now. You can see the originals here:

Hi, Autosol metal polish has worked a treat, with a bit of elbow grease. :jump_clap: Thanks for the tip. May still end up painting them black in the future, but am happy with them clean for the minute!
