it's a $10k option on the R8 in the States...actually more when you figure the value of the base bakes, at least 2k

I'm so tempted to make an offer around 4k and see what happens, perhaps he'll counter

Did you have those up in York, or are they a more recent acquisition?
I don't remember seeing them on your car.

Make a load of dosh as many purchasers/dealers wouldst even realise.

Only possible issue with that is if you sell back / p/x to Audi, they want the car with OEM spec, i.e. the one it came out of the factory with.

Same here - they are just brilliant. My previous RS4 had the standard brakes and I went through 3 or 4 sets of discs in 20k miles - they are just not up to track work and develop heat spots very quickly which leads to vibration under braking. No such issues with the ceramics - this year alone I have been to Spa, Nurburgring, and Monza as well as several driving trips and the ceramics can take some serious use in their stride.

Like you, I can't imagine having a performance car without them now.
Golf R - with added MRC
Sprint blue B7 RS4 Avant - Sold
Ultimate Silver Nissan GT-R - Sold

didn't have time to respond to final counteroffer (which was a yes!) and now I'm at fate's mercy to see if it's still there... root for me guys... :D

At this ceramic set prices almost makes financial sense to get ceramics if you're keeping the car a while. Does anyone know if we're likely to see them on sale at similar prices in the future, or is this a one off?

So what's the story with this? Pagid UK online store sells them for around 500 quid, I've seen the 70 ones and they are a different code, T-1222.

Im running DS2500, RBF600 fluid and braided hoses and the brakes have been brilliant on track and day to day driving, only down side is the Bremo dics as they still tend get the grooves in them and slight cracks appear, even when the holes are not blocked. Im thinking of up grading to some AP jobbies if I continue to track the car.

Just one thing that did occur - I'm sure I've read that when cold the ceramics are worse than steel in terms of absolute stopping distance.
They need heat to work properly.
