Trackers (and their ilk) don't deter the professionals, not even one little bit, complete waste of time and money on cars like the RS4 that are stolen to order by professionals.
Visual deterrents like a Stoplock or disklock are better as they still have to smash them even if they get hold of the keys..

Bad luck mate - a horrible feeling.

About a month ago we had some scumbag in a balaclava standing over our bed at 5am shining a torch in my eyes telling me to get the keys. Mrs JackS4 screamed the house down and thankfully he legged it. Takes a while to get over the shock believe you me.

Not wishing to thread hijack, but yes you don't half feel pretty paranoid afterwards. I think in part due to the audacity of these guys in the way they surgically entered the house and even parking their car next to mine on a very well lit and visible (to neighbours) driveway.

We were burgled on August 6th this year between 8.30pm and 9.30pm whist still light through the front window after thieves failed to kick the reinforced back door in.

It was the only night I can remember this year when there hasn't been a single car on the driveway. So basically someone sat for a long time watching the house no doubt. My little boy was only 2 weeks old at that point so glad we weren't in as I know people say "I'd do this or that" but in reality if someone was waving a knife at me I'd hand keys over, however if they were doing that and my little boy was in the house then I know I'd be putting my life on the line for my family and wouldn't have any issues with doing as the chap in Manchester did to see fit to protect his family.

Really sorry for the OP. So much scum around stealing from there fellow working men who work hard to reap the rewards. Unfortunately with how this country is going with both the unemployment and the illegals that aren't even known to be here crime is only going one way.

House is alarmed like Fort Knox now but thats just a deterrent unfortunately not a prevention if they want something not much can be done.
