Hi All,
When buying an RS4 privately, who would you recommend for a mechanical check of the car as i just about know the basics. Are the AA, RAC checks any good or should i bring it to an independent garage in the area i buy. I just want some piece of mind....
Thanks everyone.
Buying Private: Car Mechanical Check - AA or RAC or other
Re: Buying Private: Car Mechanical Check - AA or RAC or othe
I was in exactly the same position a few months back, but with my S4.
In the end I thought the RAC/AA check couldnt give me anything more than I already knew, plus they dont do a Vag Com check. I found an independent that was close to where I was buying from and took it there for a once over - much cheaper, done it while I was there so got to take a close look myself and more thorough check IMO.
What location is the car in ?

Uhhmm, you could try 4 rings - not sure if they offer this kind of service but they keep getting really good reviews on here and I will be using them for my first service in September.

I would def go independant specialist. I had RAC check on my rs4 in the past and they missed quite a few things and it cost me £350 for the check. In the end I got a refund from them.

+1 for 4rings - have used them for the past few years now, excellent service. Not sure if they will do a vehicle check, but worth ringsing and asking - the guy that runs it is called Dean.
They are based in Dartford but do mobile work, spread the word to anyone you know who has an Audi as they do a top job and very competative.
No i dont work for them but like to put a good word in for people that do a good job, Dean has sorted me out on a number of occassions even out of normal hours.
