phoned them and they've been extremely helpful.
still, the best they can do is £2000, and they say this is because I haven't driven similar high performance cars for at least 1 year.
the fact that I drove a 180bhp mini cooper S for 3 years is apparently not enough....

they suggested to hold and wait until February, and by then it should be MUCH easier to get my car insured and modified at a decent price

pisquano, have you thought about declaring a "chip" to the insurance company, as opposed to a remap? Technically speaking both things are the same (or almost, depends on your perspective), but it might be worth a shot, as I've heard of quite a few people getting cheaper quotes for chips rather than remaps...

I'm with Admiral and advised them I had a remap. My insurance docs say I have a chip! Probably means they have no remap box to tick which could also mean that Admiral don't differentiate betweent a remap and a chip. Of course, other insurance companies may be different.

0 - 10% i think (or maybe 15%) added about £50 - £100 to mine

See the other isurance post. Mine is £59.67 with all mods declared and Elephant are the online Admiral so prices should be similar although your address may ramp it up a little.
