EPC light

Post by jegan » Tue May 24, 2011 6:08 pm

Hi guys just need a little advice, had my RS4 for 4 months now but ive noticed now and again the EPC warning light appears on the dash. This especially happens when in traffic and the oil temp above 100 C. But when i switch the engine off and restart it dissappears. Completely at a miss at whats goin on? Car still under audi warranty so might have to see the dealer, but any light on the problem would much appreciated. Thanks

:)

Where abouts you based? worth trying to find local with vag-com to read the fault code.
Sometimes you can get an off the shelf ODB2 reader in halfords for 20 quid that'll read the basic code.
Sounds similar to mine where this is caused by the manifold flaps sticking. Only happens when hot.

I have this light intermittently... Pulled fault code P2015. That indicates an intake manifold problem and issue with manifold flaps moving. Car booked in this week. Apparently a number of issues can cause that light... Insufficient secondary airflow, carbon build up stopping manifold flaps opening or closing properly and vacuum problems. I also have a dead air box power flap and manifold flaps fail output test using VCDS (Vagcom).

Best thing to do is just bite the bullet and bring it to someone who can sort it for once and for all, otherwise it will just eat you up inside everyone that horrible little orange light comes on.
