I have just put LED bulbs and resistors in mine. Look loads better. Not a difficult job.

I bought the PIAA incandescant bulbs - pretty sure are these H36 S25 27W SINGLE FILAMENT BAYONET They aren't E Marked as look a little blue when off but look a good match when on + no resistors to splice in.

Correctomondo....ive someof these look just as good when off...as mentioned above slight blue tinge among the mirror finish...but when on they look good.

HOWEVER...They seem to knock out some serious heatand my bulb holder is slightly brown and burnt looking...

Also i think the heat has affected the bulb because the small contact on base of bulb is starting to crumble....kept getting a bulb out warning but when i check its the fit of the bulb in the holder..a quick wiggle about and its back on.. :bash:

i have had the piaa bulbs now for 18 months and had no issues with them..well worth getting imo..saves all the poncing about with resistors. had to go the resistor route on my number plate leds.. :bash:

Must say mine have been no problem either although I do remember someone saying on here they can overheat as I looked at reducing the output in VCDS but whatever I set them to seemed to make no difference to my eyes !

I don't think all reg LED lights throw an error. The dectane ones appear to be fine (don't have them on my car, but they have a YouTube 'how to' vid and all seems fine on it)

eBay for the PIAA's. You can get them for about £26 if you search thoroughly if I remember correctly.

Our cars have a problem with all the LED numberplate lights due to the colour DIS - they seem to have been tested on the red DIS & then inferred they will work on all A4 variations... Have tried the "modules" & the "canbus safe" festoon lights & neither worked...
