Disconnect and plug the two hoses which run to the exhuast valves so they remain permanently open.
You can either do this at the valve itself or trace it back to the 90 elbow.

Whichever route you go down, make sure the hose is suitably plugged or you lose the 'kick' at 5500rpm as the airbox flap is part of the same circuit.

Having come from a tuned S3 I'm not sure I understand how someone finds the turbo (lag) experience anywhere near as good as the V8 5500+ rpm experience... I must be driving it right.... I only get to drive my RS4 2 days a week now and weekends as attempting to save cash for a wedding.... I can honestly say I live for the days I can use it.... I am also finding that because I'm not using it everyday, I am using the same amount of fuel I would use if driving it all week in the few days I do use it (but don't tell the other half) :D

Thanks Pie. I'll take a look at doing it this weekend.

Gonna have a garage clear out of old parts and see if I can raise enough pocket money for an MRC trip too!

Not sure what Leon you have, but the RS4 shares space in my garage with a remapped 2011 Leon Cupra R.

Yep....you're doing something wrong

Brought my RS4 down to Switzerland (where I work) last summer and I would challenge anyone to get bored on the Swiss roads. Motorways and straight lines are fine if you like that sort of thing. But take it down the Gottard or the Stelvio Pass (Bormio side) on a wet summer morning then you'll laugh the whole way.

Quattro tested to my limits whilst overtaking motorbikes was the thrill.

Take it to the Hills Nobber!

The car is very quick, however power delivery is silky smooth, coming from a turbo you are used to the kick (as I was) but the fact is, this car is quicker but it delivers the power more smoothly, put your foot down and then check your speedo, big numbers come up quickly.

I have to admit, coming from a remapped impreza P1, I found the rs4 a bit (not a lot) boring.... ..until I got a non res valved miltek!!! Oh yeh baby. It's exciting and always an event now. I've yet to get round to doin a write up on it.

My problem is my mate has a 600 bhp r35, so even though the rs4 is great, feels very slow indeed compared to that, still love it though (and the noise is better with the non res milltek!)

I was initially disappointed with the performance of mine (I'm not mentioning carbon) but have now learnt to keep the revs higher and its really grown on me.
Also check the speedo occasionally as you'll be doing 30mph more than you think due to fantastic grip levels and sound insultation!
