Its the way forward guys and the natural step up,problem is finding what to step up to after an RS4? I would think the OP is better off buying an already high miler and taking it over 100k in a few years, paying a premium for a low miler would be quickly gone with average miles of 20-30k a year. You will love it after an r32 and if you fettle them they are much more awesome! :biggrin3:

Your old car looks in fine shape for a high miler DK, Id have that over some of the low milers with shabby condition seats etc any day of the week at that kinda money

Hmm, I do like it in that grey colour, much more subtle than blue or red, and a million times nicer than silver (not to offend anyone with a silver car!)

I think it's going to have to be black or grey, so I'll definitely look at that one in more detail, thanks for the link

If the adverts quotes grey, its probably Daytona grey which is quite a bit darker than the Avus in the photos above. Avus sits in between Daytona and Silver in terms of shades.

Avus was the most popular colour on the original B5 RS4, one of the few B5 colours (Misano was another) that got carried over to the standard colour range of the B7.

Ahh right, so there is silver, avus and daytona grey? I don't think I've ever seen an avus in the flesh, but do like the grey ones I've seen, and love the photos above.

Any ideas of how many were made in each colour?

In that case can someone else comment on Auto Prestige  . I nearly bought from them last year - prices seem cheap?

There prices are cheap, they are inline with private sales most of the time, but the flip side is you dont get the usual perks of a dealer, they are a quick in and out low margin outfit, full trimmings come with fatter margins,as always you get what you pay for,if they had a good example i would buy no problem but know what im getting into.

I was briefly looking at a RRS and they are the same with those, roughly the cheapest for a dealer and high turnover

Ok then, but i will try and keep it short.

Arranged to come down from Scotland to buy a Imola Yellow RS4 priced at 28000 with A p/x My 06 STI. which was mint with loads of extras, was only on their website a week or 2.(someone on here then saod he had heard they had problems but i can assure you the car was mint, even gave them 2 brand new wheels and new set of PF brakes with it) i know my subarus having had them since 2000.

Got there, saw the car, was not told it had a slight small dent on drivers side. looked round car in pissing rain, deal done paid and went home happy.

Put it striaght into a Audi specialist in Glasgow for health check.

Results.

1. Small hole in radiator which only let coolant go under high pressure.
2. Passenger side mirror electrics gone
3. 3x parking sensors
4. Oil cooler pipes on way out and leaking.

Now i have had all these replaced and fixed at cost of over 1800 i think was over a year ago.

I know i should have picked all these up(at least sensors and mirror), however it was pissing down and he did rush me and was never away from my side and i could tell with hindsight he was keeping me from really looking if you know what i mean.

So off to trading standards after the warranty company fobbed me off as it was wear and tear according to them.

Phone calls letters sent recorded delivery, nothing heard at all, Brdford trading standrds know of them.enough said.

I should have known when he screamed up to the garage in a Blue RS4 Avant booting the nuts out of it and then saying they all take turns at taking cars home at night according to whats the fastes etc.

Plenty more about this story but i have kept it short.

Yes i was Niave however when you buy from a so called high performance dealer to expect high performance service, sadly i learned the hard way and car is now excellent. i hope no one else suffers the same fate.
