Just out of interest my car is standard except an MRC air filter and remap. It's only 10-15 (if that) ps down on most modded cars and is night and day faster than before.

I'd really recommend the (MRC) remap even on a standard car based on my experience.

Warranty if they found out YES
Insurance definately would be voided if they found out and you'd not declared it.
MOT no problem

Pro's are :

Improved fuel ecomomy (personally dont beleive that on a petrol)
Better torque
Engine more revvy and pulls harder.

Cons:
expensive for not much BHP but then its not about figures on N/A cars.

And as above..... pretty pointless on N/A unless you improve on air in and out!

Once the tq limiter is removed then (for max results) shouldn't the air box flap be removed as well. In stock form the air box flap opens at 5.25k to provide adequate air for when the throttle valve opens 100%.

We can replace that with the cold air feed. The airbox flap opens at high revs and high speed otherwise it sucks hot air through the radiator at low revs and low speed.

It is a easy diy job, but we remove the secondary air injectionwhich I think is in the way. But you will then get codes without our remap. It might be possible without removing it. I'll need to look on the next one.

Of course we do - we spend a lot of development time with these cars. If you know any well respected US Tuning Shops that want to be a dealer tell them to get in touch.

Do you get WOT in gears 1-3 above 5k rpm or not at all?
Is WOT available throughout the rev range in 4-6?

Considering Arthurs 3k-8k test is done in 3rd gear, would standard map cars be significantly slower?

Sorry Steve, I should've mentioned that it was cleaned and ported. Can't imagine the porting makes a huge difference (?) but who knows with the cleaning! Either way it's probably clogged up again now but still feels much quicker than before.

Power went from 370ps to 431ps.

5th gear I believe, as you say power is limited in 3rd
