You would be surprised how much fun the C1 is to drive - and how many "corporate" Mercedes/BMW/Audi drivers get caught out by it - very few people pass me on the M27, and as soon as there's traffic congestion it small size and nippiness let me get out of the gridlock easily.

I thought I would HATE driving it for 4 days, but actually I quite enjoy it's simplicity and the need to DRIVE it.

I would NEVER give up my RS4 though, it's Jekyll & Hyde character of a boring "granddad" car one moment, and a very fast fun sports car the next is totally without comparison.

I grin 4 days a week, but I smile insanely on the other day.

RS4 !!!

I bought it because it was a practical do it all car - fast, daily use, Scottish roads and weather, carry mountain bikes or dive gear. To me it doesn't make sense to buy an RS4 and then something else

Used to do about 20K a year but that has dropped slightly to about 16K after having family and getting a family motor for the wife. Someone posted a cost per mile calculator on here a while back. IIRC it suggested that once you start looking at things on a cost per mile basis the economics can come out quite differently.

I work drilling oil and gas wells and remember years ago a boss making a comment that it was everyone's duty to drive at least a V8 :biggrin3: eventually got there

My reasons for not running the RS4 as a daily driver are added to by the fact that the company car parks are over capacity and use the top to tail parking space system. It would be dented or scratched 2 or 3 times a week unfortunately.

the RS4 is the daily driver ;)

We use her 1.1L Yaris for trips into town or not nice areas or where the parking is going to be shitty!

Ford Escort Van TD. Only live 2 miles form work so RS4 never gets warmed up on short trips. Plus a van always useful and saves the back of the car getting damaged

I have a mk3 golf cab. I use it in the winter so not to trash my RS6 with all the salt and pot holes and it keeps the mileage down and the wife uses it in the summer and taking the kids to the beach.

I have my 3 cars on a Admiral multicar policy at it costs me £1100 a year for them all (wife's car a vw touran tdi).

The golf has cost me virtually nothing to maintain (service it myself) and is fantastic fun. Even put the hood down in the snow cos my kids asked, bl00dy hilarious seeing peoples faces!

It works for me.

I have an old 96 VR6 Passat Wagon. New England winters destroy cars over here. So I'm more than happy to destroy the Passat & not the RS4. Funny thing is the RS4 gets better mileage than the 2.8 VR6 in the VW. Go figure.
