Question about Auto-boot function

Yep I biffed up, only got the Struts and sring, need the uprated brackets too....well its costing more that £30 now

i have a question, mine pops open on the key fob but only a little bit, the other day it opened fully could the gas struts be old and tired? how can i find out if its the fully opening one of just a pop?

Rick, if it opened fully once then either you had auto boot, or your Jesus

I think the former ...

When its cold it doesnt comes up as easy ( i found when I had mine) .... try lube (for the car !)

MY AVANT BOOT ONLY OPENS A COUPLE OF INCHES FROM THE KEY FOB CRAP REALLY MY Q7 USED TO OPEN ALL THE WAY AND THEN CLOSE WITH A TOUCH OF A BUTTON AUDI SHOULD HAVE FITTED THE SAME SYSTEM TO RS4 AVANTS

You might need a new spring. I read on here not to oil them as it makes them rattle?

The B7 was only a cosmetic upgrade of the B6 which was designed 12 years ago, so it's not surprising that it doesn't have many of the "nice to have" features of the newer designs like the Q7.

P.S. typing in all caps on an internet forum is considered SHOUTING.
