You got it right on the spot me thinks.

A6 to go for V10, leaving space for V8 A4s
- RS is a turbocharged version of the top-of-range model
- Spaceframe is defined for the range, not for a specific model
- Audi seems to reduce the time between introducing the base models and the RS to two years

I think it wil, be the v8 4.2 with turbo's to justify a difference between S4 and RS4.

Apparently I heard Audi are testing the following engines with the sports and wheels package in the standard A4 Shell taped up for testing purposes at the ring.

4.2L Biturbo
3.7L Biturbo
3.0L Biturbo

they claim to get at least 420hp out of any of these motor options.

As I say this is nto certaon but audi are testing the options mentioned above as said by audi dealers and by other forums all masked over the web.

I've also heard that there has been a 3.7 litre V8 Biturbo on test. I think that's a fairly viable option, except the reduction in "cubes" wouldn't go down very well probably. I still think the 3.2 V6 Biturbo idea is a corker. Only time will tell.

I had the chance to direct a S4 V8, I am a good car, but v6 does not have nothing to see with the "slightness" of one biturbo, really motor inhaled will lose espirit esport in the case of a RS [img]images/graemlins/sleeping_2.gif[/img]

My dealer just phoned me to ask if I was interested in the S4 Cab. During the conversation about new A6, S6, RS6 I asked him about the new RS4.
He was ABSOLUTELY 100% certain the RS4 engine will be the RS6 engine WITH the turbos and manual/tip options. Del next summer.

He may not be right but just imagine:
- the lovely RS4 with the engine from the 'crap barge' RS6

I don't think the RS6 engine will fit in the S4 engine bay so it would have to be heavily modded to fit. Also why would Audi go to the trouble of developing a new engine for the S4 if they weren't going to use (a tuned version) elsewhere?

Still think V8 - no turbo's is more likely
