It was great while it lasted - Another RS4 gone!

Post by scoobyjam » Fri Nov 26, 2010 7:49 pm

Well folks,

Thanks for the help and advice found on here, in the end I purchased a pretty mint Black RS4 Avant last month.

Unfortunately some scum liked it as much as I did, and 5 weeks after taking delivery my house was burgled and the RS nicked. :x Damn. :x

Would love to replace it as I was only just breaking her in, but do I risk it again? Maybe not, its a shame as it was an awesome car.

If anyone gets offered a low mileage car for silly money, check it thoroughly first!

Sorry to hear that. Winds me right up to think thieving scum are dictating what cars we buy :(

But your families safety comes first. No point in having another RS if you're going to be up all night at the slightest noise.

Is it worth checking at the sellers address?

Sorry to hear that Scoobyjam. Must admit that one of my major concerns about buying an RS4 was the increased theft risk.

Can I ask approximately what area it was stolen from?

Is it worth posting the reg on the forum on the offchance someone spots it?

Sorry to hear this, we all run the risk but we all know it's worth it.
Mileage, reg, spec, any unique features would all be very useful as would county of theft so we can keep a look out.

Thanks for the comments. Im gutted. But glad that at least my family wasnt badly affected.

A few other sets of keys were stolen, ive been in to my local garage to get the other cars recoded and was told that one customers RS4 has been stolen and recovered 3 times recently!!

I will post the details up, but just let the insurance settle things first - I dont want to compromise anything. Im in Kent Just inside the south east corner of the M25.

Sorry to hear of your loss, it seems to be Audi month and not just RS4's, last weekend a 2.0T got stolen in the road opposite and a house in my road had a pole stuck through his letter box fishing for keys for his TDI Avant only realised when he saw marks on the hall wall they didn't hear a thing.
